Max

Max is our new Nubian goat with somewhat of a scant history. We do know his age, as he was owned by one person and he is about six or seven years old. He was in a hoarding situation and the new owners of the property where he came from wanted to make sure he went to a “good” new home. So, they found On Golden Rescue!

Max’s Story

We’ve been working with them to get ready for his arrival and they delivered him in a trailer. He was very stressed from the trip from Scappoose OR (usually goats don’t travel well), and his hooves were some of the worst we’ve seen. Our Animal Care Manager went right to work to trim as much as possible without causing him further distress.
Max is a very large wether! He dwarfs the rest of our goats, but he’s a gentle giant. He could go toe-to-toe with a few of our mini horses, as he’s roughly the same size. Max really likes people and cats. Our two feral cats, Laverne and Shirley, have been hanging out with him and flirt with him when we take him for leash walks which he thoroughly enjoys!

He is now a happy “herd member,” and has joined the rest of our goat clan.
