Buckshot, a handsome 8+year-old white Mini gelding was in a soon-to-be homeless situation, arriving here in March 2022. Buckshot had had severe stifle in his back legs and had surgery in 2020. He also has a thyroid condition which requires daily medication. He came here rather stiff in the back legs and squirrely and could be a handful with his nervousness. We had him work with Charisse Tooze, owner of The Animal Bodyworks in two separate sessions to help ease pain in his back legs and generally allow him to learn to relax through massage and bodywork techniques. We saw a difference in him and with great supplements and healthy food designed by Marianne Berg, our resident horse specialist and board member, he looks and feels so much better! Galloping like a little foal, he doesn’t show the signs of stiffness that he once displayed. Buckshot shares a pasture with Scotch, Pearl and Jethro, our Mini donkey.
