Matti is a very large Warmblood mare. Matti’s owner had given Matti to some friends of hers as they’d lost their own horse, after Matti “retired” from the horse competition circuit. Years later, these friends were getting another younger horse and didn’t want Matti anymore as so often happens when equines become seniors. The prior owner reached out to us in a panic as Matti would soon be homeless. We’ve taken her in and to date, she is our youngest equine at 18 years old. She, too, has had her share of injuries and surgeries and is now resting comfortably with her pasture partner, River.
