Sophie, a Mini mare at 19, is quite the pretty girl, but can be a bit entitled. She’s had her own set of medical issues in the past with colic, Type 2 Diabetes and glaucoma, all of which we manage nicely here at On Golden Rescue. She, too came in March of 2022 because of the need for a new (forever) home. Her most recent health check with Dr. Kim from Banks Vet proved to be proof positive that we are doing the right amount of healthcare management as she said, “I really like her body condition”. With Minis, keeping a healthy weight is paramount, as they can easily end up with Cushing’s Disease and other diseases that Minis are prone to getting. Sophie is boarded with Annie and Sophie definitely has the upper hand in that pasture pal situation!
